NetBotz Central 2.4 includes significant new functionality. New and improved
features in NetBotz Central 2.4 include improved LDAP compatability with MS
Active Directory servers, and support for a variety of BotzWare 2.4
functions, including:
- IPMI Devices: Appliances that have the BotzWare Premium Software
Module 2.4 installed can use the IPMI Devices to add network-attached,
Intelligent Platform Management Interface-enabled devices to the list of
devices that are monitored by your NetBotz appliance.
- Pod Sharing: NetBotz 500 appliances that have the BotzWare Premium
Software Module 2.4 installed can now connect with and receive data directly
from devices integrated with or connected to NetBotz 320, 420 or 500s in your
network. Once a pod has been shared with the NetBotz 500, it functions as
though it were connected directly to the appliance.
- External Storage: NetBotz 500 appliances that have the BotzWare
Premium Software Module 2.4 installed can now use a network attached storage
device (a Windows share or an NFS mount) for External Storage functionality.
This is a list of previously noted issues and limitations that were corrected
with the release of NetBotz Central 2.4:
- Sensor data that does not include preceding zeros now sorts correctly.
- Automated output relay activity now adds entries to the syslog output from
the appliance.
- Appliances now time sync properly when using the NetBotz Central appliance
as an NTP Server.
- Solved a problem that caused 'Internal server error' messages to appear in
the server log files whenever a badly formed BAY or BMP image was posted to
the NetBotz Central appliance.
- Fixed a problem which prevented Surveillance data that was not tagged from
being purged under some circumstances.
- Corrected an issue whereby the net_devices table was not updated when an
appliance that had been added to server using HTTP was re-added using HTTPS.
- Corrected a problem that prevented users from un-checking severities for
e-mail-related alert actions.
- Correct problem that caused an OutOfMemoryError exception when exporting
large sensor data reports from the NetBotz Central console.
- Creating a User ID with an identical Full Name and Login Name values is no
longer permitted. In addition, when creating a new User ID NetBotz Central
will check for other previously created IDs that have identical Login
or Full Name values. If duplicates are found, NetBotz Central will not permit
the user to create an ID using those values.
- Corrected an issue that prevented upload of BotzWare images to server
unless they were stored on the C: drive. Occurred when using the "Browse..."
function in Manage BotzWare Images to navigate to the location of a saved
BotzWare image. If the image wasn't stored on the C: drive, the user would
receive an empty error message box.
