Certified NetBotz Systems Engineer
Overview
The CNSE certification is designed for technical sales, systems engineers, and support engineers. The goal of the CNSE program is to ensure that NetBotz partners have the technical skills needed to effectively represent the NetBotz product during the pre-sales and post-sales interactions with their customers.

The CNSE certification is achieved by attending the CNSE classes and successfully completing the CNSE exams.

Training Objectives

Delivery Format
The CNSE classes are delivered via a collaborative web/internet training environment. To attend the CNSE classes only the following are required:
  • PC Running Windows 2000 or higher with high speed internet access for the visual content
  • Telephone for audio content

The CNSE training is comprised of four training classes or modules:
  • Module 1: NetBotz Version 2 Appliances (320/420/500)
  • Module 2: NetBotz Hardware and Software Add-ons for V.1 and V.2 Appliances
  • Module 3: NetBotz Central
  • Module 4: Support, Services, and Deployment
The CNSE classes typically take about 12 hours to complete. The 12 hours of training is spread across 3 days (4 hours of instruction per day). Please click here to see the CNSE class schedule.

The CNSE exams are comprised of five individual exams corresponding to each of the CNSE modules listed above. Each individual exam must be successfully completed. Typically it takes about 1.5 hours to complete all five exams.

Title: CNSE Module 1 - NetBotz Version 2 Appliances
Abstract: Detailed technical instruction on NetBotz 320/420/500 model appliances covering features, functionality, installation, configuration, and problem determination.
Module Length: 3.5 hours
Module Objectives:
  • Explain the features of the Version 2 appliances
  • Physical installation
  • Software installation
  • Software configuration for thresholds, alert notifications, and alert escalation
  • Problem determination procedures
Prerequisites:
  • CNSE Module 2 - NetBotz Version 1 Appliances
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SNMP, Ethernet, etc.), Windows PC usage & configuration, basic problem determination skills


Title: CNSE Module 2 - NetBotz Hardware & Software Add-ons
Abstract: Detailed technical instruction on NetBotz hardware and software add-on options for Version 1 and Version 2 appliances covering features, functionality, installation, configuration, and problem determination.
Module Length: 1.5 hours
Module Objectives:
  • Explain each hardware and software option for Version 1 and Version 2 series products
  • Physical installation
  • Software installation
  • Software configuration for thresholds, alert notifications, and alert escalation
  • Problem determination procedures
Prerequisites:
  • CNSE Module 1 - NetBotz Version 2 Appliances
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SNMP, Ethernet, etc.), Windows PC usage & configuration, basic problem determination skills

Module Length: 3.5 hours

A. None, NetBotz provides all classes and exams free of charge

Q. Can I just attend specific modules and not all four modules?
A. Yes, but this is not optimal and you may miss important information.

Q. How do I take the CNSE exams?
A. The CNSE exams are available via the NetBotz Partner Portal. If you don't have access to the Partner Portal, contact your NetBotz sales representative.

Q. How long does it take to complete the classes and exams?
A. The five class modules take about 12 hours to complete. The CNSE exam takes about 1.5 hours to complete.

Q. Can I get copies of all of the training presentations?
A. Yes, all of the training presentations (PowerPoint format) are available on the NetBotz Partner Portal.
