NetBotz Incorporates Alert Escalation Policy into its Award-Winning Solution
New External Sensors also Added

AUSTIN, Texas- October 31, 2002 - NetBotz®, Inc.,the leading global provider of intelligent physical security solutions, today announced several enhancements to its award-winning technology, which provides organizations with the ability to secure against physical threats such as human error, intrusion and hostile environmental conditions

Among the new features announced today is a User-Definable Alert Escalation Policy. For each NetBotz monitoring appliance, the user can define a ''base notification levels'' and two ''escalation notification levels.'' For each, the user can specify how many times to send the notification, the time interval between notifications, and the notification actions to be taken. By giving customers more control over the frequency of, and the interval between, alert notifications, NetBotz eliminates the "nuisance alert factor": too many alerts too often.

"With IT managers typically receiving alerts from any number of software and hardware products, their ability to distinguish among the urgency of the alerts is diminished," said Mitch Medford, NetBotz vice president, product development. "NetBotz alleviates this problem by giving users the ability to specify who should receive notification first and who should receive subsequent warnings about impending trouble."

NetBotz also announced it has expanded its offering of external hardware sensors that can be attached to NetBotz™ and RackBotz® monitoring devices. The FD100 Fluid Detector addresses a key IT concern, leaking pipes and standing water in computer areas. The HS100 External Humidity sensor augments the built-in humidity sensor in NetBotz appliances to monitor humidity levels of an area other than where the NetBotz itself is located.

NetBotz safeguards the critical assets and spaces of its customers by providing early warning about the physical threats or events that can jeopardize their critical assets and spaces. These events can range from intrusion, equipment tampering and even human error to the presence of a damaging water leak or the occurrence of glass breakage. In addition, NetBotz captures events as they happen and creates a visual record of that event.
