NetBotz First to Bring Analog CCTV Camera Data to the Digital IP Network Seamlessly, Effortlessly and Affordably

Demonstrated at TECHXNY, Adapter Pod Converts CCTV Video Data to Digital Data for Use Over an Organization's Existing IP Network

AUSTIN, Texas- Sept 16, 2003 - (TECHXNY, Booth 3836) NetBotz®, Inc., NetBotz, Inc., the global leader in IP-based intelligent physical security solutions, and recent winner of a Deloitte & Touch Rising Star Award, today demonstrated the first technology to seamlessly and easily conjoin the analog world of CCTV with the digital world of IP-based computer networks found in most leading commercial, government and academic organizations. Traditional ways of converting analog to digital video data involve installing cumbersome, expensive and difficult-to-maintain cabling used to integrate digital video recorders (DVRs) with CCTV technology. In addition, DVR storage is typically distributed, making for an inefficient way to manage a company's visual surveillance data.

With the NetBotz CCTV Adapter Pod, users can easily import any analog visual data into the NetBotz 500 appliance, which can send instant surveillance alerts via pager, email or SNMP and create surveillance reports so organizations have the historic security information they need to enhance their efforts. Once the data is sent to the NetBotz 500, users can take advantage of the appliance's motion detection, recording and advanced alarming features. All alert and picture data transmitted by NetBotz 500s via e-mail or to NetBotz Central can be encrypted via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).

Moreover, any CCTV data sent to a NetBotz 500 can be stored and managed enterprise wide by NetBotz Central, the company's powerful management platform. NetBotz Central manages a company's organization-wide NetBotz appliance deployment as well as all the physical threat data they gather. In doing so, NetBotz Central creates a secure virtual physical threat network that protects a company's assets, locations and infrastructure across offices, regions, boundaries and borders. NetBotz Central provides easy retrieval of historic alerts and surveillance clips, and data is automatically backed up to network storage.

CCTV cameras run the gamut from exotic specialty visual capture devices such as underwater, pinhole, night vision and caustic environment cameras to those typically used to watch over locations such as lobbies, retail stores and casino gaming sites, to more.

Today's news is significant for both current CCTV users as well as those contemplating installing such a surveillance solution. For those looking to install an expensive and proprietary CCTV system and network, they can instead integrate and manage CCTV cameras through their existing IP network, bypassing the need for a separate, (dup) analog CCTV network. For current CCTV users, this news means they can leverage their existing CCTV investments to greater use. Right now, CCTVs are like silos, capturing visual information that can only be used one way-to display visual data.

With more than 2,200 customers, NetBotz provides the leading solution for protection against physical threats-hostile human acts such as physical intrusion and sabotage to dangerous ambient and environmental factors, including noxious gases.

How the NetBotz CCTV Adapter Pod Works
Data can be sent from the CCTV camera in multiple NTSC or PAL formats via cable. The pod then translates proprietary analog CCTV video information into digital data which then goes over a USB cable to the IP-based NetBotz 500 appliance. The appliance, in turn, then can use, manage and send this visual data over the IP network in the form of secure, instant security alerts that contain the captured visual data; surveillance trending reports and more. Moreover, by brining this video information into a NetBotz Monitoring Appliance, users have web-based, one view into all the surveillance information about their organization, including information captured by NetBotz digital cameras-components of the appliance itself.

Demonstrated today at TECHXNY, Booth 3836 in the show's Security Pavilion, the NetBotz CCTV Adapter Pod will be available late Q3. For information about the NetBotz 500 Monitoring Device and/or NetBotz Central, go to www.netbotz.com. To arrange a demo, just go to http://www.netbotz.com/schedule/.
