FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATEN Technology and NetBotz Form Technology Alliance to Simplify Remote Data Center Management
Irvine, CA (April 25, 2005) -- ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity
solutions to manage servers and other network devices, today announced a partnership with NetBotz, a manufacturer of security and environmental
monitoring hardware and software, to integrate ATEN's remote data center management offerings with NetBotz IT infrastructure monitoring and alerting solutions.
This powerful combination of NetBotz's proactive monitoring and ATEN's remote remedial response technologies will enable IT administrators to avoid unplanned
downtime, improve business continuity, and reduce the time and costs of recovery, particularly for unmanned and/or lights-out sites.
According to Sampson Yang, CEO of ATEN Technology, Inc., the partnership will be implemented in two phases. In Phase 1, ATEN will immediately
assimilate NetBotz products into its current solution portfolio to provide customers with a single source for acquisition and support of the joint offering.
IP integration to the ATEN remote management consoles will be embedded into the alert payloads generated by the NetBotz alert policy engine.
"We have seen the demand for IT infrastructure monitoring solutions grow rapidly. To accommodate this rising demand and bring the best product to market in
the least amount of time, we have chosen to offer NetBotz solutions alongside our core product line of enterprise KVM solutions," said Yang.
Phase 2 will integrate support for ATEN devices into NetBotz's central management platform. This software solution will enable customers to view enterprise
deployment status; offer mass configuration to NetBotz, ATEN, and third-party remote devices; and archive forensic data from a single, secure management application.
"With the proliferation of divergent IT monitoring and control devices, our customers have asked for help in consolidating the management of those devices into a
single application to reduce complexity and training costs. NetBotz already supports most data center devices through SNMP agents and will soon add IPMI-enabled devices
and smart power strips to the portfolio. The addition of ATEN KVM products to the NetBotz central management platform further enhances the utility of the application
for its customers," said Peter Poulin, VP, Marketing for NetBotz.
