NetBotz Software Release Deepens Data Center Monitoring Solution, Provides Unparalleled Access and Integration with Critical IT Equipment

monitoring solutions, today announced several new Premium Software Modules to meet
the growing customer need to integrate third party equipment into a common monitoring
and management platform. Monitoring and controlling a data center..s critical assets is a
key component of any preventative management strategy. With new functionality that
leverages technologies such as IPMI, Intelligent Power Strips, Network Attached
Storage, and Pod Sharing, NetBotz provides even greater visibility into the internal
equipment conditions that threaten a network.
The result is a comprehensive snapshot of events occurring either inside a critical asset or
within its environment as the events occur, providing the early warning needed to prevent
small issues from becoming disasters.
About the new Premium Software Modules:
Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) reports the internal conditions
of third party servers into the NetBotz management system. IPMI is an open
standard for server environmental monitoring and power control.
Intelligent Power Strip Integration enables the NetBotz solution to monitor and
manage various enhanced power monitoring and management capabilities on a
variety of power distribution products from APC, Raritan, Avocent, BayTech, and
Server Technologies. Supported features include output control for individual
outlets and enhanced monitoring of power-related information, such as aggregate
current, aggregate voltage, current, watts, voltamps, and circuit breaker status.
Pod Sharing enables NetBotz appliances to share their sensors and cameras with
NetBotz 500 appliances, enabling a single NetBotz 500 to act as a ..host..
appliance, serving as a management platform in small and medium sized
businesses.
Network Attached Storage (NAS) Support enables the NetBotz 500 to store
historical monitoring information on storage devices already on the network,
without additional investment. This feature also enables the customer to leverage
existing operating procedures for data backup and recovery.
An additional Premium Software Module supports the importation of maps and room
schematics into the management GUI. By placing icons that represent sensors and
cameras on the image, a user can quickly isolate the location of a threat.
