NEW NETBOTZ SURVEILLANCE SOFTWARE REDUCES DATA RETRIEVAL HEADACHES
Database approach creates powerful search and sort capabilities, making important surveillance clips easier and faster to find

AUSTIN, Texas- February 02, 2002 - NetBotz®, Inc., the global leader in web-based monitoring solutions for critical assets, today announced new features to its Surveillance software, an application that enables IT managers to create a visual record of who enters their facilities and track what they do while they're there.

NetBotz Surveillance is a web-accessible application that runs on the NetBotz Central server which hosts a centralized data warehouse for images and clips captured by NetBotz monitoring appliances and third-party cameras. The new features enhance users ability to quickly find and play back "surveillance clips of interest" and discard irrelevant archived video data.

"Our surveillance software has become very popular with our enterprise customers who have driven the need for even better search, retrieval and playback capabilities. The new features of NetBotz Surveillance now make it even easier to get at critical data faster, and enhance court admissibility with watermarking" said NetBotz CTO Mitchell Medford.

New features of Surveillance:

  • Filters: Filters are user-defined sort criteria that automatically organize surveillance clips for easy retrieval.
  • Sophisticated clip management and search capabilities: Users may define search terms and qualifications to rapidly find clips by camera, date, category, priority, etc. Clips may be defined, tagged, annotated, and assigned a priority level to simplify retrieval of archived surveillance clips.
  • Enhanced Clip Player: The new clip player includes: start and end time of clip, slide bar for manual control of a clip (including fast forward and rewind), shows where motion is present in the clip, time of current frame
  • Save Clips as AVI, MPEG, or Signed (watermarked) AVI Files
  • Digitally Signed Clips: The digital equivalent of a watermarked document, digital signatures detect tampering with video images.
